Principal Planning Officer

Salary up to £33,315

You will lead and co-ordinate work on the Local Development Framework and report to the head of the unit. You will have to use your experience and skills to ensure that we deliver the key documents to plan and to assist with the overall management of the unit.

You will supervise the LDF work of the three Senior Planning Officers and two support staff in the team. The role is challenging and you will need to drive progress on a number of documents and projects. In addition you will be working closely with development control on the policy implications of planning applications, inputting into sub regional and regional planning and working on corporate projects.

The post is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified planner who is aiming for a management position in the future but wishes to gain further supervisory experience in order to help them get there.
