Please ensure that you fully complete the application form provided. A Curriculum Vitae will be accepted but candidates are asked that they are tailored to the requirements of the job i.e. the criteria detailed in the job description and person specification.

Recruitment Procedure

The selection process will be held over two days for each post as set out below. The Chief Executive, Corporate Director of Improvement and Development, Corporate Director of Resources and the Head of Corporate Personnel Services will conduct Stage 1 interviews.

Those candidates who progress to Stage 2 will be interviewed the following day by the Heads of Service Appointments Committee (a Committee of Councillors) assisted by the above named officers.

a) Head of Regulatory Services

  • Stage 1: Monday 17 th March 2008.
  • Stage 2: Tuesday 18 th March 2008.

b) Head of Community Services

  • Stage 1: Wednesday 19 th March 2008.
  • Stage 2: Thursday 20 th March 2008.

c) Head of Engineering and Design Services

  • Stage 1: Monday 31 st March 2008.
  • Stage 2: Tuesday 1 st April 2008.

Candidates are requested to reserve their availability during these dates. Those candidates who are invited for interview will be contacted by telephone/email no later than 5 00 p.m. on Wednesday 12 th March 2008, which will be confirmed in writing.

The selection programme will comprise presentations, formal interviews and occupational psychometric tests. Further information will be given to candidates invited for interview.
